Welcome to the 2006 World Pillow Fighting Championships

Important information for participants

«      Complete the application CLEARLY so that your name can be added to next years list

«      Applications will not be accepted without payment

«      Send it back before July 1. After that date, your name will be added to the wait list

«      Check in at the pit prior to 9 a.m. so we know you are there

«      Stick around between each round so that you will hear your name or you will lose your spot

 

OFFICIAL RULES

«      2 Divisions: Men and Women, 14 years of age minimum.

«      All contestants must keep both hands off the pole at all times.

«      Contestants may strike opponent only with the pillow.

«      One or both hands may be used to swing the pillow.

«      Use of feet to kick or unseat the opponent is strictly forbidden.

«      Contestants may block opponents blow, but not grab the pillow.

«      Winning two (2) out of three (3) falls determines the winner of the bout.

«      The first contestant to hit the mud loses the fall.

«      Contestants must swing at least once every (30) seconds or be disqualified.

«      Dropping the pillow for the second time between falls will be considered a fall.

«      No rest period will be allowed in any bout.

«      If a bout goes one (1) minute without a fall, the referee will instruct the contestants to place one hand behind their back.

«      After one further minute, with out a fall, the referee will instruct the contestants to hold the pillow with both hands.

«      There will be three judges for each bout.

«      There will be one referee in the pit to start and stop each bout.

«      Any judge may call a foul by raising the foul flag and pointing to the offender.

«      The winner of the competition in each division is considered "World Champion" and runner up is "U.S. Champion.” NO other titles will be recognized.

«      The decisions of the referee and judges are final.

«      All contestants must report to the fight arena by 9:00am on July 4th or be disqualified.

«      No Refunds.
