Kenwood 4th of July Celebrations & World Pillow Fighting Championships PO Box 249, Kenwood, CA 95452 FACTS/STATS « Date: July 4th from 9 am to 5 pm « Where: Plaza Park, Warm Springs Road, Kenwood, California « Cost: $7.00 and children 12 and under are free « Parade: The Biggest Little Home Town Parade – 10 am to 11 am. « Footrace: 3 and 10k Foot Race – 7:30 am www.empirerunners.org « 2004 Live Bands: TBA « Attendance: 7,000 to 10,000 annually « Participants: 100 fighters (Of course most are male, but over the years that more and more women have been getting involved in the act.)Ages 14 and up may participate. « Entry Fee: $15.00 « Champions: One World Champion, receiving $500, and one U.S. Champion, receiving $300, in both male and female categories are crowned annually. « Year: The Kenwood 4th of July Celebrations & World Pillow Fighting Championships is in its 38th year. « Fundraiser: The Kenwood 4th of July Celebrations & World Pillow Fight Championships is a non-profit organization run by dedicated volunteers from the Kenwood Fireman's Association and the Kenwood community. The funds raised from this event provide education, equipment and firehouse improvements for the Kenwood Fire Protection District.
